Lançamento do Portal Mar da Madeira

Communicating well and doing it as closely as possible, in an effective, precise, serious and understandable way for everyone, is certainly one of the best tools to fight ignorance and raise knowledge.

The “Mar Madeira” portal emerges as an urgent need, an institutional obligation of the Regional Government, through the Regional Secretariat of Sea and Fisheries and the Regional Directorate of the Sea, to bring to the public what is new daily in the areas of science and research and technology linked to the sea, but it is also a duty to assure the population of objective and understood information.

The sea is one of the sectors that can best enhance the Region's economic and social development. The proximity information that “Mar Madeira” provides, from today, to the whole world, showing the different partners, institutions linked to science, research and technology, companies and associations, is to open the doors of the Region to new investments for blue growth.

With greater media exposure, we also increased our responsibility for the defense and preservation of the sea and its biodiversity.
